Despite being a 22-year-old who hasn’t played with toys in years, my inner child is freaking out right now: Chevrolet has a Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition commemorating the toy’s iconic styling. Not only is the Chevrolet Camaro one of my dream cars, but this model just looks great. From the signature Crush Orange paint to the Satin Graphite stripes that run from hood to trunk, this is picture perfect for any collector or Camaro fan. The Hot Wheels Edition is a perfect full-sized replica featuring Satin Graphite trim, orange brake calipers, and 20-inch five-spoke wheels that are only seen in this package.
Finishing off the exterior, we have 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels badges on the front fenders, a standard Hot Wheels badge on the black decklid panel at the rear of the car, and some darkened taillights to tie it all together. The interior of the car keeps the same theme as the outside, housing Jet Black leather with plenty of orange details and trim to match the toy we used to play with. Naturally, additional 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels badges can be found inside on the steering wheel and on the illuminated doorsill.
If you want to get your hands on this package, you need to act sooner rather than later. Order books have already been opened, and deliveries will begin rolling out in spring 2018. The special edition package is available on both the 2LT or 2SS coupes and convertibles, and it will be adding an additional $4,995 to your price tag. You will only be able to order these while supplies last, and judging by the beauty of this beast, I don’t think they’re going to last very long.
For those of you that prefer the strip instead of the roads, Chevrolet will be producing a very small amount of 2018 COPO Camaros that are eligible for the Hot Wheels package. These vehicles come with a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 but can be upgraded to either a supercharged 5.7-liter V8 or a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8. No matter which engine you decide to go with, all powertrains will be backed with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Give in to the screaming child inside of you and buy one of these while you still have the chance.
