2005 Ferrari Enzo: $6.0 Million
One particular Ferrari Enzo is sometimes referred to as the Popemobile, although the pontiff never drove the car, because it was first built for Pope John Paul II as a present in 2005. Of course, that makes an already rare car even more special; after all, only 400 Enzos were ever produced. When it went to auction, the Popemobile sold for $6 million. That price wasn’t just the car, however. It also included a note that was handwritten by the Ferrari chairman sitting underneath the hood.
The pope had never driven this car, although he did bless it. This is also one of the expensive car sales that supported a good cause. The Vatican donated the proceeds to charity, an unsurprising but appreciated choice.
